Typically used by the working class, has limited vocabulary and is based on the use of gramatically simple sentences, context bound

used by the middle class, a formal, context free, very clear, gramatically correct
What did Bernstein argue about restricted and elaborated language code for social classes
He argued that speech differences give middle class an advantage at school and working class at a disadvantage. Elaborated code is used more in exams, textbooks etc and working class are likely to feel excluded and to be less succesful
