1/9
Vocabulary flashcards covering the stages of software development, computational thinking concepts, and computer system components for Secondary 2 Computer Science.
Analysis
Define the problem clearly so everyone knows what is needed. This is the requirements specification.
Design
Decide all the tasks, how each is done and how they fit together.
Coding
Write each module in a programming language and test it. Amend the code and repeat until the module works.
Testing
Run the completed program many times with different sets of test data.
Abstraction
Keeps the key elements and discards unnecessary detail.
Decomposition
Breaks a complex problem into smaller parts.
Input (Computer System)
The data used by the system that needs to be entered while the system is active.
Process (Computer System)
The tasks that need to be performed using the input data and any other previously stored data.
Output (Computer System)
Information that needs to be displayed or printed for the users of the system.
Storage (Computer System)
Data that needs to be stored in files on an appropriate medium for use in the future.
