Vocabulary flashcards covering the definitions of force, gravity, momentum, and Newton's three laws of motion from the introductory worksheet.
Force
A push or a pull.
Gravity
A force that pulls mass down.
Newton's 1st Law
An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force.
Newton's 2nd Law
The law stating that more force results in more acceleration.
Newton's 3rd Law
For every action force, there is a reaction force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.
Momentum
A measure of mass in motion, or how hard it is to stop a moving object.
