Cell membrane
A phospholipid by layer that keeps out some things but allows other to pass
Cell wall
Found in bacteria and plant cells this is a rigid structure that supports and surrounds the cell membrane
Chloroplast
The organelle implant cells in which the energy forms sunlight and converted into sugar through the process of photosynthesis
Cilia
Hair-like structures on the surface of some cells that aid in movement and the movement of substances across the cell surface.
Cytoplasm
The gel-like substance within the cell membrane that contains organelles and is the site for many metabolic reactions.
Cytoskeleton
The network of protein filaments and tubules in the cytoplasm that helps maintain cell shape, offers support, and facilitates cell movement.
Rough ER
Modifies proteins and ships them into the golgi body
Smooth ER
Makes lipids breaks down drugs and toxins
flagella
Long tail like organelles on some cells that whip around to help cells move
Golgi apparatus
Packages proteins for transport ships them out of the cell
Lysosome
Found in animal cells digest food particles wastes and cell parts
Mitochondria
Organelles within the cytoplasm or glucose is broken down to make energy for the cell
Nucleus
The organelle that contains most of the heredity information and directs most of the cell activities
Ribosome
The most numerous cell organelle wear proteins are assembled
Vacuole
Large organelles in plants that source water
