the part of a car in front of the driver that has instruments and controls in it

rev counter
a device that measures the rate that something turns and is used to measure the speed of an engine in a vehicle

speedometer
an instrument in a vehicle which shows how fast the vehicle is going

fuel gauge
an instrument used to indicate the amount of fuel in a fuel tank

steering wheel
the wheel that the driver turns to control the direction that a vehicle goes in

ignition
the electrical system of a vehicle that makes the fuel begin to burn to start the engine; the place in a vehicle where you start this system

horn
a device in a vehicle for making a loud sound as a warning or signal

milometer
an instrument in a vehicle that measures the number of miles it has travelled

gear lever
a handle used to change the gears of a vehicle

handbrake
a brake in a vehicle that is operated by hand, designed to be used when the vehicle has already stopped

seat belt
a belt that is attached to the seat in a car or plane and that you fasten around yourself so that you are not thrown out of the seat if there is an accident

clutch
the pedal in a car or other vehicle that you press with your foot so that you can change gear

brake
a device for slowing or stopping a vehicle

accelerator
the pedal in a car or other vehicle that you press with your foot to control the speed of the engine
