“The gospel is the good news that only the true God, the just and gracious Creator of the universe, has looked upon hopelessly sinful mean and women and has sent His Son, God in the flesh, to bear His wrath against sin through His substitutionary death on the cross and to show His power over sin and death in the resurrection from the grave so that all who turn from their sin and themselves and trust in Jesus alone as Savior and Lord will be reconciled to God forever.” Who God is – The gospel is the good news that only the true God, the just and gracious Creator of the universe,; Who we are – has looked upon hopelessly sinful men and women; Purposeful sending – and has sent his Son, God in the flesh, to bear His wrath against sin; How? – through His substitutionary death on the cross and to show His power over sin and death in the resurrection from the grave; Result – so that all who turn from their sin and themselves and trust in Jesus alone as Savior and Lord will be reconciled to God forever.

John 3:16 – God loved us so much that He sent His son to die for us so that we can be saved; Romans 1:16 – The gospel is the power of God for salvation for everyone; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5 – Jesus died for sins, buried, raised; 1 Timothy 1:15 – Christ came to save sinners; Romans 3:10-31 – None righteous, justification by faith not works; Ephesians 2:1-10 – Dead to sins, but God made us alive

What are five treasures or things that happen immediately when someone is born again?
Forgiveness; Adoption; The Holy Spirit; Justification – legal freedom; Regeneration – cleansing
Know the difference in exclusivism, inclusivism, pluralism, and universalism.
Exclusivism – one way, one road; Inclusivism – one road, many ramps; Universalism – one BIG road, or no need for a road; Pluralism – many roads leading to the same destination
Be able to reproduce from scratch the 3 circles. Be able to reproduce a written description of the picture, remembering to describe the circles and different parts.
Draw three circles labeled God’s Design, Brokenness, and Gospel. God’s Design: God created us to live in a loving relationship with Him and according to His good design. Draw an arrow labeled Sin from God’s Design to Brokenness because we turn away from God and go our own way. Brokenness: Sin separates us from God and leads to brokenness. Draw squiggly arrows going out from Brokenness to show our attempts to fix or escape it, which cannot restore our relationship with God. Gospel: God sent Jesus to live without sin, die on the cross for our sins, and rise from the dead. Draw an arrow labeled Repent and Believe from Brokenness to Gospel: we turn from sin and trust in Jesus alone as Savior and Lord. Draw an arrow labeled Recover and Pursue from Gospel to God’s Design: God restores our relationship with Him, and through the Holy Spirit we grow in obedience and pursue His design for our lives.

Describe and explain the difference in primary calling and secondary calling.
Primary calling is God’s call to belong to Him through Jesus Christ—to know, love, follow, and obey Him. This is the foundation for everything else. Secondary calling is how we live out our primary calling through the particular roles, responsibilities, gifts, and opportunities God gives us, such as being a student, family member, worker, or serving in ministry. We serve and glorify God in these roles and use them to love others and share the gospel. Primary calling is our relationship with Christ; secondary calling is how we live for Christ in the places and responsibilities He gives us.
