nervous tissue with cell bodies and unmyelinated axons

large eucromatic nuclei, in both white and gray matter, contribute to the blood brain barrier

What are oligodendrocytes?

round euchromatic nuclei with thick nuclear membrane, in white matter will form myelin sheaths on multiple axons, in gray matter is a perineuronal satellite cell to provide metabolic support to nearby neurons

What are microglia

small heterochromatic and cigar shaped nuclei, are the macrophages of the CNS

What are ependymal cells?

simple cuboidal, specialized neuroglial cells that line central canal of spinal cord and ventricles of brain, form the choroid plexuses that form cerebrospinal fluid

Which glial cell filters blood plasma form capillaries of the pia mater to form cerebrospinal fluid?

What is the arrangement of the meninges?

dura mater is the outer thick and leathery covering, the arachnoid mater is middle and two parts (membrane and trabeculae), and the pia mater that is tightly adherent to the surface of the brain and spinal cord and is highly vascular
