Visibility: NOx can react with other pollutants to form ozone

  • make the air hazy and difficult to see through


Human Health:

  • SO2 and NOx react in atmosphere to form fine sulfate & nitrate particles that people can inhale into their lungs & cause effects on lung function

    • relationship b/t these particles & heart function results in death among those with increased heart risks
