Oxidation, reagent H+/Mon04, H+/cr207 + heat
substitution reaction
when an atom or group of atoms bonded to a carbon is/are exchasnged or another atom or group of atoms
Addition reaction
occurs when a carbon-carbon double bond breaks and two atoms/groups of atoms are bonded to the carbons that were in the double bond
Elimination reaction
occurs when two atoms or groups of atoms bonded to adjacent carbons are removed, and a double bond is formed between the two carbons, forming an alkene.
Oxidation Reaction
another form of addition reaction. an oxidant is added, the double bond breaks and two hydroxyl groups are added to each carbon of the double bond to form a diol
