Lift
The force that moves the aircraft upward, created primarily by the wings as they interact with the air.
Weight
The force of gravity pulling the aircraft downward.
Thrust
The force that moves the aircraft forward, mainly produced by the engines.
Drag
The resistance that acts against the aircraft as it moves through the air.
Airflow
The motion of air around the wings, crucial for generating lift.
Airfoil
The cross-sectional shape of a wing, designed to control the airflow.
Angle of Attack
The angle between the wing and the oncoming airflow; critical for lift production.
Stall
A condition in which airflow separates from the wing due to a high angle of attack, resulting in a loss of lift.
Airspeed
The speed of the aircraft through the air, which affects the amount of lift produced.
Wing Size and Shape
Factors that influence lift; larger wing areas generally produce more lift.
Air Density
The mass of air per unit volume, affecting lift; it decreases at higher altitudes.
