Qualitative Property

Quantitative Property
A property that is measurable and has a value, such as temperature, height, or mass.
Optical Clarity
How clear an object appears; categorized as transparent, translucent, or opaque.
Solubility
The ability of a substance to dissolve in another substance.
Malleability
The ability of a substance to be rolled or hammered into various shapes.
Ductility
The ability of a substance to be drawn into wires.
Viscosity
A measure of how much matter resists flow.
Electrical Conductivity
A measure of how well electric currents move through a substance.
Characteristic Physical Property
A physical property unique to a substance that can be used to identify it, such as density or boiling point.
Melting and Boiling Point of Water
Water melts/freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C.
Density Formula
D = m / V (Density equals mass divided by volume).
Physical Change
A change in which the substance's composition remains the same and no new substances are produced.
Chemical Property
A description of what a substance does when it reacts to produce new substances, such as flammability or reactivity.
Chemical Change
A change that causes the identity of a substance to change, forming something new with new properties.

Colour change, gas production, precipitate formation, energy change, and odour change.
