Test-Retest Reliability
The degree to which a person receives the same score when completing a measure at two different points in time.
Parallel Forms Reliability
The equivalence of different versions of the same measure.
Internal Consistency
The consistency of items in a measure assessing the same concept; indicates strong correlation between individual items and total scores.
Cronbach's Alpha
A statistic reflecting the degree of internal consistency of items, ranging from 0 to 1, where closer to 1 indicates better reliability.
Inter-rater Reliability
The consistency of results produced by different raters using the same measure.
Content Validity
The extent to which a measure covers all facets of the construct being assessed.
Criterion Validity
The ability of a measure to predict other indicators of the same construct.
Concurrent Validity
The correlation between a new measure and pre-existing measures that have been validated.
Predictive Validity
The ability of a measure to predict outcomes in the future.
Construct Validity
The degree to which a measure reflects the theoretical concept it is intended to measure, and its relationship with unrelated constructs.
Convergent Validity
The extent to which a measure relates to other constructs that it should be related to.
Discriminant Validity
The extent to which a measure does not relate to constructs that it should not be related to.
