The Israelites enjoyed their economic prosperity, however indulged in idolatry, harlotry (another word for prostitution) . __ denounces the lack of knowledge of the Israelites on Lord’s generosity .God’s punishment was a way to purify people, the repentant people will no longer be unloved but children of God.

The Lord God deemed this as social injustice, as people were comitting Idolatry and enjoying economic prosperity, others were poor and oppressed. __ helped proclaim the Lord’s forgiveness.Â
