God's faithful love for his people was sacred, intimate and exclusive that likens it to a marriage. The Israelites enjoyed their economic prosperity, however indulged in idolatry, harlotry (another word for prostitution) . __ denounces the lack of knowledge of the Israelites on Lord’s generosity .God’s punishment was a way to purify people, the repentant people will no longer be unloved but children of God.

Amos -

Justice Prevails

The Israelites enjoyed their economic boom and nation revival, making them anticipate the “Day of the Lord” However the people ended sinning and left burnt food as offerings to God. The Lord God deemed this as social injustice, as people were comitting Idolatry and enjoying economic prosperity, others were poor and oppressed. __ helped proclaim the Lord’s forgiveness.

Change of Heart

A devastating plague occurred, the prophet saw the calamity as the punishment of God for the sins of the people. __ calls for a complete change of heart, he said that God would pity the people if they repented and will bless them again. Then the Lord declares that he will send out his spirit and pour it onto every mortal

Jonah -

Lord is the God for All Men

The Lord God sent __ to preach in Nineveh to convert it from its wickedness, however __ fled from his mission and God caused a storm, making a fish eat _. In the end - preached to the people of Nineveh

God’s Mercy

The prophet __, a contemporary of Isaih, also denounced Israel’s sins and declared God’s punishment
