DDR

Stands for Double Data Rate in RAM.

SO-DIMM

Commonly used RAM type in laptops, stands for Small Outline DIMM.

ECC RAM

RAM type that detects and corrects errors, typically used in servers.

DDR4 voltage rating

The voltage rating of DDR4 RAM is 1.2 volts.

DDR5

The fastest and newest RAM type as of now (2023+).

SRAM usage

SRAM is primarily used for CPU cache memory, being fast, expensive, and static.

Key difference between DRAM and SRAM

DRAM must be refreshed constantly; SRAM does not.

DDR5 advantages

DDR5 has faster speeds, lower voltage (1.1V), and is more efficient compared to DDR4.

DDR3 and DDR4 interchangeability

DDR3 and DDR4 modules are not interchangeable due to different physical designs and voltages.
