Inertia
An object's resistance to changes in its state of motion, whether staying at rest or moving at a constant velocity unless an external force acts upon it.
Friction
A force that opposes sliding between two surfaces in contact, which is zero if there is no force trying to make the surfaces slide.
Static Friction
The friction force that exists between two surfaces that are at rest relative to each other.
Kinetic Friction
The force that resists motion when two surfaces are moving against each other.
Maximum Static Friction
The highest value that static friction can reach, which is greater than kinetic friction.
