the backward bending and contracting of foot

Plantarflexion

the movement in which the top of your foot points away from your leg

Supination

motion of palm turning to the front

Pronation

motion of palm facing the back

Elevation

moves upward

Depression

moves downward

Protraction

lower jaw is pushed forward to stick out the chin

Retraction

pulls the lower jaw backward

Eversion

tilting of the sole of the foot away from the midline

Inversion

tilting of the sole of the foot inwards towards the midline

Opposition

a special movement of the hand in which the thumb contacts any of the fingers, but typically the second finger
