What are the three main things yoga can be viewed as?

proprioception
sense of touch inside muscle fibers, tendons, and joints that tell us where limbs are; internal sense of musculoskeletal system
Ex: knowing hand’s position without looking
generating proprioception
done by applying stress to muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia in the body
compressive stress
shorten tissues when bones get closer; builds strength
tensile stress
lengthen tissues when bones get further; improves range of motion; can only be done when a tissue crosses a joint, changing the distance of a bone
