Naming binary molecular compounds
The first word is the name or the first element unchanged with a prefix
The second road is the stem of the name for the second element with an -ide and with a prefix
Two important exceptions to naming binary molecular compounds
If the first element has only one atom do not put the prefix mono-
If there is an ao or oo vowel combination, the first letter is dropped in writing and in saying the word
