Diagnosis and Assessment

Reliability

consistency of measurements or results over time

Interrater reliability

goal is for two mental health professionals to reach the same conclusions given the same information about a patient

Test-retest reliability

how stable scores are over time

Alternate forms reliability

multiple tests that measure the same thing; should result in the same scores or outcomes

Validity

level of accuracy of weather you’re measuring what you are supposed to measure

Content validity

question of weather everything that should be included was measured

Construct validity

questions of if you are actually measuring what you believe you are measuring

Cultural formation interview (CFI)

part of the DSM-5 that helps clinicans understand cultural context of a specific patient

Comorbidity

two or more independent/interacting conditions present in the same person

Dimensional classification

the degree that something is present and its level of severity

psychological assesment method that aims to gain a large amount of information in a short amount of time; structured or unstructured

Intelligence psychological tests

psychological assement method that assesses current cognitve abilities

the practice of making someone aware of a particular belief that then is realated to and results in poor performance

psychological assessment method that asks people to record their experience as it happens in the moment

neurobiological assesment method that looks at changes in symathic and autonomic nervous system and link them to psychological phenomenon
