Ace Diamond: Fairytale Detective Lines

Scene 3: The Office of Ace Diamond (beginning line)

ELOISE: Jeepers, Ace! You scared me! You promised to stop sneaking in like that.

ACE #3: I can’t promise to stop being sneaky, Ellie, it’s part of the job.

ELOISE: Is the rumble in this morning’s paper true? You caught B.B. Wolf?

ACE #3: That part’s true. The rest is pure floy-floy. I can’t believe what these reporters make up – “I’ll huff and I’ll puff”, where would they even get a quote like that?

ELOISE: I’m just glad you’re okay.

ACE #3: Now, Eloise! You’ve got to stop worrying about me.

 ELOISE: But B.B. Wolf, Ace! You could have been-

ACE #3: Nothing, princess. I could have been nothing. I told you, stop worrying. 

ELOISE: Did you see that other story?

ACE #3: Which one?

ELOISE: The owner of the Cave – goes by Little Cat. They’ve gone missing. An employee saw them “escorted” from the establishment last week. Hasn’t turned up.

ACE #3: Who did the escorting?

ELOISE: The story didn’t say. (Sighs.) I shouldn’t worry Ace, but I do. Be careful. For me?

ACE #3: Ellie…

ELOISE: Yes, Ace?

ACE #3: I’ve been meaning to tell you– (Noise from offstage.) Is someone in the lobby?

ELOISE:  What- Oh! Yes, it’s Miss Riding. She’s been waiting.

ACE #3: Miss Riding? That dame’s more slippery than a bucket of eels. Show her in. And get Sergeant Knight on the horn. I want to hear the list of charges on B.B. Wolf.

ELOISE: I’m on it, Ace.

Scene 15, Sergeant Knight and Speedy exit. Eloise enters

ELOISE: Ace! There you are! I’m so glad you’re alright!

ACE# 1: You too princess. Things got real hairy there for a second. Now listen, there’s something I need to tell you. I…well you see I….Eloise I….

ELOISE: I know Ace. Me too. Now let’s sit. I’m starving and those pies aren’t gonna finish themselves.
