ADA

Assistant District Attorney

Approved screening device (ASD)

Any BlowYou™ brand breathalyzer device.

Arrested

To be taken into custody by an Law Enforcement Officer (LEO).

Blood Alcohol Content (BAC)

The content of alcohol in an individual's blood, measured in grams per deciliter ($g/dL$).

Brandishing

To wave, flourish, or display an object, especially a weapon, as a threat or in anger or excitement.

CDL

Commercial Driver's License.

Class 1 firearm

Any firearm not otherwise defined as a class 2, 3, or 4 firearm.

Class 2 firearm

Any firearm with a caliber $\ge .50\text{ AE}$ (excluding hunting rifles), a magazine holding $\ge 15$ rounds, a sawn-off shotgun, or any firearm with an altered serial number.

Class 3 firearm

Any firearm capable of fully automatic fire using $5.56$ rounds or larger, or a Musket.

Class 4 firearm

Any firearm capable of fully automatic fire using smaller than $5.56$ rounds.

Coastal waters

Any part of the ocean that appears on the official San Andreas map.

Commercial vehicle

A truck capable of pulling a commercial trailer.

Controlled substances

Marijuana in quantities greater than $25$ units, or prescription opiates for which the possessor does not have a valid prescription.

Court Official

Positions including ADA, DA, DDA, or Judge.

CR

Abbreviated version of Civilian Rights.

Detain

The temporary restriction of an individual's freedom of movement by an LEO, based on reasonable suspicion, for investigation without placing the person under arrest.

Direct witness

Any on-duty LEO, Judge, or properly uniformed LSFD Security Personnel who gives an account used to generate Probable Cause.

Destructive device

Any weapon or object capable of being thrown, triggered, or used to cause explosions or fire.

DOJ

Department of Justice.

Drug paraphernalia

Items including Cannabis seeds ($> 50$), Coca Leaves, Mobile Meth Lab Kits, Opium, Acetic Anhydride, Ergot, Lysergic Acid, Formaldehyde, Ether, and Hydrochloride.

DSZ

Downtown Security Zone; the downtown core of the City of Los Santos policed primarily by the Los Santos Downtown Security Force.

Dwelling

A house, apartment, or any place of residence of any individual.

Election Commission

An independent agency responsible for administering and enforcing laws covering elections and campaigns.

Emergency vehicle

A motor vehicle driven by an on-duty member of a fire department or an on-duty LEO.

Eye witness

A civilian or non-security LSFD personnel providing an account for investigation that does not generate Probable Cause.

Gang

Any ongoing organization of three or more persons having criminal acts as a primary activity and using a common name, colors, or symbols.

GSR

Gunshot residue.

Government official

The current or acting Governor of San Andreas, Mayor of Los Santos, Commissioner of Blaine County, or any court official.

Government property

Includes Fort Zancudo Military Base (within outer fence), and non-public areas of Licensing Centers, Hospitals, Prisons, Police Stations, and financial institutions.

Hunting hours

$5:30$ to $20:30$ (in-game time).

Illegal equipment

Includes Hacking Phones, Item Disablement Kits, Lockpicks, Safe Cracking Kits, Weapon Disablement Kits, and Hacking Laptops.

Illegal weapon attachment

A device designed or intended to muffle or stop the sound or report of a firearm.

Illegal weapons

Cavalry Dagger, Switchblade, Battleaxe, Shank, taser, and any firearm defined as class 2, class 3, or class 4.

Intoxicated

Being drunk or under the influence of drugs.

LEA

Law Enforcement Agency recognized by the State of San Andreas, such as SAHP, BCSO, LSPD, FIB, DOC, NOOSE, LSDSF, or SASP.

Less than lethal force

Force applied via beanbag shotgun, taser, or strikes from fists or batons designed to incapacitate.

Lethal force

Force applied from a weapon or mechanism designed to cause serious bodily injury or death.

Month

One minute of real-world time.

Narcotics

Substances including Cocaine, Coca Paste, Meth, Ephedrine ($> 25$ units), Heroin, MDMA, LSD, PCP, and Mescaline (Divine).

Off-road Vehicle

Any vehicle listed as "off-road" style, or specifically the Bobcat XL, Bison, Rumpo Custom, Manchez Scout2, or the Contender.

Open carry

The practice of openly carrying a firearm on one's person in public.

Protected animal

Species including cats, dogs, coyotes, mountain lions, sharks, turtles, dolphins, and whales prohibited from being harmed.

Reasonable suspicion

When an LEO believes a crime is being, has been, or is about to be committed based on their experience and training.

Unsanctioned gambling

Gambling not authorized, licensed, or taxed by the state of San Andreas.

Miranda Rights

Rights that do not exist in the State of San Andreas and are not required to be read to an individual under arrest.

Maximum Highway Speed

$75\,mph$.

Maximum Road Speed (Non-Highway)

$50\,mph$.

Maximum BAC for Drivers

$0.08\,g/dL$ to operate a vehicle on a public road or highway.

Parole

A non-negotiable additional penalty associated with all felonies served upon release from prison.

Breach of Parole

Committed by any felony, any violent non-felony, failing a requested parole check, or possessing a firearm.

Knox's Law

Legal precedent establishing that 24-hour holds must be authorized by a Lieutenant+; improper authorization results in case dismissal.

Arraignment Hearing

A petition filed within $14$ days of an incident after a 'Not Guilty' plea to contest criminal charges.

Eminent Domain

The State's reserve right to revoke ownership of residential property for state use while providing reasonable market value compensation.

General Tax Rate

$8\%$ for individuals exchanging money for goods.
