Troposphere
The layer of the atmosphere characterized by turbulent weather, including storms and systems.
Stratosphere
The atmospheric layer containing the "Jet Stream" and the Ozone layer, which protects from UV rays.
Mesosphere
The layer of the atmosphere that protects from meteors.
Thermosphere
The biggest and hottest layer of the atmosphere, which contains the Ionosphere and where the Aurora Borealis occurs.
Exosphere
The outermost atmospheric layer associated with outer space.
Ionosphere
A feature located within the Thermosphere associated with the Aurora Borealis ("Northern Lights").
Aurora Borealis
Also called the "Northern Lights," an atmospheric phenomenon occurring in the Thermosphere / Ionosphere.
Ozone Layer
A layer located in the Stratosphere that protects from UV rays.
CFC's (Chlorofluorocarbons)
Harmful elements found within the atmosphere, noted alongside greenhouse gases.
Greenhouse Gases
Harmful elements within the atmosphere listed alongside chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
Normal Lapse Rate
A characteristic of the atmosphere included in the multiple-choice section of the quiz.
Albedo
An atmospheric characteristic reviewed as part of the multiple-choice exam material.
Aspect
An atmospheric topic included in the multiple-choice section of the quiz review.
Land Breeze vs. Sea Breeze
