Hydroxide - precipiate or indicator
Precipiate
add Cu, and it will turn blue
Indicator
red litmus will turn blue
universal indicator will turn blue
Acetate CH3COO - indicator
Acetate is the conjugate base of acetic acid, and because acetic acid is a weak acid, acetate is a strong base
red litmus turns blue and universal indicator turns blue
Carbonate
Add nitric acid (HNO3) and CO2 will be produced, forming bubbles
HNO3 + CO3 produces NO3 + H2O + CO2
Sulphate - precipitate
Add ACIDIFIED barium ions to produce a WHITE precipitate
firstly add a few strops of drops of dilute nitric acid first to remove any carbonate ions
Phosphate - precipitate
Add ALKALINE barium ions to produce a WHITE precipitate
