Operators
Symbols used in C# to perform operations on variables and values.
Arithmetic Operators
Operators used to perform common mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Addition Operator (+)
An arithmetic operator that adds together two values or variables.
Subtraction Operator (-)
An arithmetic operator that subtracts one value or variable from another.
Multiplication Operator (*)
An arithmetic operator that multiplies two values or variables.
Division Operator (/)
An arithmetic operator that divides one value or variable by another.
Modulus Operator (%)
An arithmetic operator that returns the division remainder.
Increment Operator (++)
An arithmetic operator that increases the value of a variable by 1.
Decrement Operator (--)
An arithmetic operator that decreases the value of a variable by 1.
Assignment Operators
Operators used to assign values to variables.
Add Assignment Operator (+=)
An assignment operator that adds a value to a variable and assigns the result to that variable (e.g., x+=3 is equivalent to x=x+3).
Subtract Assignment Operator (-=)
An assignment operator that subtracts a value from a variable and assigns the result to that variable (e.g., x−=3 is equivalent to x=x−3).
Multiply Assignment Operator (*=)
An assignment operator that multiplies a variable by a value and assigns the result to that variable (e.g., x∗=3 is equivalent to x=x×3).
Divide Assignment Operator (/=)
An assignment operator that divides a variable by a value and assigns the result to that variable (e.g., x/=3 is equivalent to x=x/3).
Modulus Assignment Operator (%=)
An assignment operator that calculates the division remainder of a variable by a value and assigns the result to that variable (e.g., x%=3 is equivalent to x=x%3).
Relational / Comparison Operators
Operators used to compare two values or variables, returning a Boolean value of True or False.
Equal to Operator (==)
A relational operator that evaluates whether two values or variables are equal.
Not equal Operator (!=)
A relational operator that evaluates whether two values or variables are not equal.
Greater than Operator (>)
A relational operator that evaluates whether the value on the left is greater than the value on the right.
Less than Operator (<)
A relational operator that evaluates whether the value on the left is less than the value on the right.
Greater than or equal to Operator (>=)
A relational operator that evaluates whether the value on the left is greater than or equal to the value on the right.
Less than or equal to Operator (<=)
A relational operator that evaluates whether the value on the left is less than or equal to the value on the right.
Boolean Logical Operators
Operators used to determine the logic between variables or values and combine multiple relational expressions when testing more than one condition.
Logical AND Operator (&&)
A logical operator that returns True if both statements are true.
Logical OR Operator (||)
A logical operator that returns True if one of the statements is true.
Logical NOT Operator (!)
A logical operator that reverses the result, returning False if the evaluated result is true.
String Concatenation
The process of combining two or more strings into one.
string.Concat()
A method provided by the System.String class that concatenates multiple strings passed as arguments.
string.Join()
A method used to concatenate an array or collection of strings with a specified delimiter.
String Interpolation
A string formatting option requiring a dollar sign ($) that substitutes values of variables into placeholders inside a string.
