Primarily through the fecal-oral route, often resulting in subclinical infection.
Virulent systemic feline calicivirus
A high mortality mutation of calicivirus characterized by widespread subcutaneous edema and lesions, particularly in the mouth and paws.
Feline stomatitis
Rare condition caused by feline calicivirus, resulting in progressive necrosis of the oral mucosa, often necessitating tooth extraction.
