Vocabulary practice flashcards covering conversion rules and memory hacks between fractions, decimals, and percents for HESI A2 preparation.
Fraction →Decimal Conversion
Divide the top number by the bottom number can round up or down (e.g., 43=3÷4=0.75).
Fraction → Percent Conversion
Divide the fraction, then multiply by 100 (e.g., 43=0.75=75%).
Decimal→Fraction Conversion
Use place value for the denominator, the numbers after decimal is the numerator, next then simplify the fraction (e.g., 0.25=10025=41).
Decimal →Percent Conversion
Multiply by 100 by moving the decimal 2 places to the right (e.g., 0.65=65%).
Percent→ Decimal Conversion
Divide by 100 by moving the decimal to the left 2x’s(e.g., 45%=0.45).
Percent→Fraction Conversion
Take away the percent and rewrite the number over 100, then simplify (e.g., 75%=10075=43).
Fraction Memory Hack
Think: DIVIDE! by dividing the top number by the bottom number (TOP ÷ BOTTOM).
Percent Memory Hack
Think! 100 multiply or divide by 100
Decimal Memory Hack
Think! Place Value or Move the Decimal.
