Central Finger Print Bureau (CFPB)
The apex body in India that coordinates, guides, monitors, and provides technical support to state fingerprint bureaus, investigating agencies, and international organizations.
Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS)
An indigenous automated identification system that enabled major technical advancements in the field of fingerprint science in India.
Central Detective Training School (CDTS), Calcutta
A premier detective training school established in 1956 and co-located with CFPB Calcutta to train personnel in scientific investigation of crimes like terrorism, drug abuse, and explosions.

National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)
An Indian government agency under MHA set up in 1986 responsible for collecting and analyzing crime data defined by the IPC and SLL.
