Intro
Hello, I’m here with United Energy in regards to your BGE account. I need to speak to the person that handles that.
Short Story
The reason why I’m here today is that we’ve noticed that some of the businesses in the area are still on the standard variable rate, which could be higher. It’s just my job to make sure that your account has been taken care of. The best way for me to check for you today would be on a recent copy of the bill. (SLIGHT PAUSE) Go ahead and get that and I can show you what I’m talking about.
“what is the default rate?”
It’s the standard offer variable rate that is offered through the PSC of Maryland. (proceed to explain deregulation). Best way to check for you would be on a recent copy of your bill.

Call for the end date and fill out the quote and paperwork on the tablet.
What do we say if we get a bill with an Existing Supplier?
“Great, this has already been done. My job is to make sure this doesn’t shoot up on you.”.
When we sit down with the customer, what are our pitch points?
Instant Savings or Past Savings (what they would’ve paid vs what they did pay), Future Savings, Price Protection (their rate cannot go up, it can only go down).
What do we say when we Close?
“I will be over here taking care of it, I’ll come grab you when it’s ready.”.
What do we do when we Close?
We ask for a workspace, break away, and fill out paperwork. Then, we prepare the customer via telling them the disclosures and coach them on TPV as well as provide them with the TPV cheat sheet.
What do we say when we Rehash?
We ask if they have other locations or businesses, ask to see their gas account, ask for referrals, and also ask if there “is there anyone you know who owns a business that I might be able to help?”.
