Motion
The act or process of moving, or a particular action or movement of an object brought by force.
Speed
The rate at which an object covers distance.
Velocity
The rate at which an object changes its position in a specific direction.
Acceleration
The rate at which an object changes its velocity.
Rectilinear motion
Motion in a straight line.
Curvilinear motion
Motion along a curved path, combining linear and rotational motion.
Angular motion
Rotation of an object around a fixed point or axis.
Reference point
A fixed location or object used to describe the position or motion of other objects.
Distance
The total length or extent covered by an object during its motion.
Displacement
The change in position of an object from its initial to final position, considering both magnitude and direction.
Distance is the total length of the path traveled without direction, while displacement is the change in position from the starting point to the ending point with direction.
Difference between distance and displacement
Add the individual distances traveled.
Formula for calculating distance
Calculate the square root of the sum of the squares of the changes in position in each direction.
Formula for calculating displacement
Instrument that indicates the speed of a vehicle
Speedo meter
