Element
A single type of an atom; has a chemical symbol.
Pure Substances
Chemically identical throughout all/any part of it.
Mixture
Has no chemical bonds; just mixed together; might look same throughout or not same throughout.
Compound
Chemically bonded together, has chemical formula.
Homogeneous Solution
Dissolved, always evenly mixed, appears same throughout.
Heterogeneous Mixture
A mixture where visual inspection reveals that individual pieces and particles within are clearly different from each other.
