Festival
A special day or period of activities, usually in memory of a cultural event, with its own social activities, food or ceremonies.
The National Day of Bahrain
A national celebration held by Bahraini people on the 16th December of every year.
Eid AL Fitr
A celebration held on the first day after the month of Ramadan where families gather and children get lots of money.
Eid Al Adha
A holiday celebrated on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijja when the pilgrims are performing Hajj (Pilgrimage).
Gerga'oon
A celebration in the mid of the holy month of Ramadan dedicated to children, where they carry cloth bags, collect sweets and nuts, and sing traditional songs.
Bakhnak
A traditional costume worn by girls during Gerga'oon celebrations.
Jalabiyas
Beautiful traditional dresses worn by girls during celebrations such as Gerga'oon.
Thobs
White traditional garments worn by boys on Gerga'oon day.

Bahraini Women’s Day
A special day celebrated on the 1st December to honor the contributions and sacrifices of Bahraini women working in schools, hospitals, and all other fields.
International Women’s Day
A day celebrated around the world on the 8th March every year dedicated to women.
Mimosa
Special yellow flowers given to women in Italy on Women’s Day.
Topic sentence
The sentence, usually the first sentence, that tells what the paragraph or essay is about.
Concluding sentence
A sentence at the end of a paragraph or essay that summarizes the main idea of the text.
Classification paragraph structure
A writing format requiring a paragraph with a topic sentence, a section with details/examples, and a final concluding sentence.
