Whats a heterogeneous catalyst
Has a different physical state (phase ) to the reactants
Whats a homogeneous catalyst
Has the same physical state (phase) as the reactants.
Whats example of hetergeneous catalyst
Iron (solid) is used as a catalyst in haber process

How do hetergeneous catalysts work
In first stage, the reactant molecules form weak bonds with surface of catalyst (adsorption)
In second stage, the reaction takes place to form the products
In final stage, the product molecules are released from the surface of the catalyst (desorption)
Example of homogeneous catalysts
Ozone is reacted to form oxygen, the reaction is catalysed by a chlorine free radical.

What are the two stages of homogeneous ctaalyst
The catalyst forms the intermediate in stage 1]
In stage 2 , the intermediate reacts again and catalyst is regenerated
