Axillary Artery
-after thyrocervical trunk, R subclavian becomes this
-becomes this when subclavian passes in front of the 1st rib

Aortic Arch
Identify:

Right Subclavian Artery
First branch from the brachiocephalic trunk. Supplies the upper limb and becomes the axillary artery near the axilla.
*

Right Common Carotid Artery
Second branch from the brachiocephalic trunk, that travels to the neck.
*

Left Common Carotid Artery
The third branch of the brachiocephalic trunk, supplying left side of head and neck.
*

Left Subclavian Artery
Final branch of the aortic arch. Supplies the left upper limb.
*

Left Subclavian Vein
Identify: passes inferior to the clavicle, becomes brachiocephalic vein.
*

Superior Mesenteric Artery
Supplies all of the small intestine, and proximal (beginning) end of large intestine.
*

Inferior Mesenteric Artery
Supplies distal end of large intestine.
*

External Iliac Artery
Branch at the most distal end of the descending aorta entering the thigh.
*

Internal Iliac Artery
Branch at the most distal end of the descending aorta supplying the pelvic organs.
*

Femoral Artery
Branches from the external iliac artery. Becomes the popiteal artery (around the knee).
*

Femoral Vein
Major vein of the thigh that receives blood from the deep femoral and great saphenous vein.
*

Hepatic Portal Vein
Large vein (may be yellow). Located between stomach and liver. Carries blood from stomach, spleen, pancreas, and intestines to liver.
