Testable Physical Properties
Density is a physical property that can checked by how much an object sinks or floats in water
Hardness can be tested by scratching or denting an object
Solubility can be tested by how easily a substance dissolves in a liquid like water
Chemical properties and what is it?
Chemical properties are revealed during or after a chemical reaction when bonds break or form to create a new substance
Chemical properties of a substance is determined by it’s flammability, acidity, toxicity, reactivity, oxidation, and combustion.
What happens during a physical changes
Physical changes happen when an objects appearance is altered but NO new substance is created. Changes in shape, sizes or state like ripping, cutting, dissolving, melting, boiling, breaking, etc
What happens during a chemical changes
A chemical change happens when matter or a substance creates a new substance meaning the substance has different properties from the original substance.
Changes such as rotting, rusting, burning, exploding, combustion, and corrosion are all considered as chemical changes
