Wavelength
The distance that a sound wave disturbance travels while moving from position of rest to compression to position of rest to rarefaction, and then back to rest.
Minimal Audible Movement Angle
A spatial hearing threshold that is lowest (best/smallest/most acute) for a sound moving directly in front of the head.
Middle Ear Muscles
The two muscles located inside the middle ear, identified as the stapedius and tensor tympani.
Upward Spread of Masking
An auditory phenomenon caused by the asymmetry of the excitation pattern along the basilar membrane.
Lead
Another name for the direct sound that travels directly from the source to the listener.
Basilar Membrane
An inner ear structure that is narrower at the base and wider at the apex.
Waveform Frequency
The repetition rate of the sound depicted in the waveform, measured as 100Hz.
