Ocular Micrometer
An engraved glass disk with a meter scale placed inside a microscope eyepiece, used for measuring microscopic structures.
Analytical Weighing Balance
A highly sensitive balance with a capacity between 1g and 100g and a precision between 0.1mg and 0.01mg, featuring a draft shield to prevent measurement interference from air currents.
Triple Beam Balance
A non-digital weighing balance with a capacity between 100g and several kilograms that utilizes three distinct beams (front, middle, and back) of varying scale sizes.
Simple Monocular Microscope
A microscope equipped with a single tube or lens, illuminated by light rays collected via a concave mirror.
Dissecting Microscope
A microscope used during dissection procedures of small organisms, such as mosquitoes, to view their anatomical parts.
Binocular Microscope
A microscope featuring two eyepieces that can be fitted with a camera to take photomicrographs of microorganisms or objects.
Inverted Microscope
A microscope that differs from conventional models by having its objective placed underneath the stage, designed for examining organisms in liquid or solvent containers.
Electron Microscope
A microscope that illuminates specimens using an electron beam instead of light, providing significantly higher resolution.
Muffle Furnace
A high-temperature heating device operating between 1100∘C and 1200∘C, used in laboratories for approximate analysis, calcination, or determining ash content.
Incubator
An enclosed heating chamber used to maintain a stable, constant temperature (such as 30−37∘C or 36−38∘C) required for growing biological cultures.
Water Bath
An equipment featuring a submerged heating coil inside a rectangular steel reservoir, controlled by a thermostat to maintain specified water temperatures.
Flame Photometer
An analytical instrument used for analyzing nutrients and reviewing elemental composition in plant, animal, soil, rock, water, and air samples.
Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)
A separation technique consisting of a solid stationary phase and a liquid mobile phase used to separate extracts into individual components.
Gas Chromatography (GC)
A chromatographic separation technique that utilizes a gas (such as helium) as the mobile phase passing through a capillary column.
Colorimetry
An analytical technique used to assist in determining the concentration of a colored substance present in a given solution.
Hematocrit Centrifuge
A clinical laboratory centrifuge specifically designed for microhematocrit operations to determine packed cell volume (PCV) in blood.
pH Meter
A physical-chemical measurement instrument used to determine the hydrogen ion concentration in a solution across a scale from 1 to 14.
Conductivity Meter
An instrument that measures the electrical current passed through a solution to determine total dissolved solids in a water sample.
Rotary Evaporator
Equipment used to remove solvents from sample mixtures through evaporation under reduced pressure and controlled heating.
Fume Hood
A laboratory safety enclosure designed to protect operators from inhaling toxic gases while safeguarding the experiment and surrounding environment.
Biosafety Cabinet
An enclosed workspace operating similarly to a fume hood, equipped with a specialized filter to prevent microorganisms from escaping into the environment and a UV lamp for surface sterilization.
Deionizer
An apparatus fitted with cartridges designed to remove both metallic and non-metallic ionic impurities from water.
