What is an ecosystem?
Where living organisms are linked to it’s non-living surroundings - eg rainforests are ecosystems

Biotic rely on sunlight, rainfall and nutrients
What is meant by succession?
The process where a mix of habitat and species in an area changes over time
How does succession affect an ecosystem?
A pioneer species can colonise grounds and this can decay plants and produce nutrients which allows more plants to grow so a dominant species will invade and succession is completed
