Targets

-Close gap in life expectancy within a generation

-Increase proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies with a healthy birth weight to 91 per cent

-Increase the proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth (aged 15–24 years) who are in employment, education or training to 67 per cent

-Increase the proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in appropriately sized (not overcrowded) housing to 88 per cent

-a significant and sustained reduction in violence and abuse against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children towards zero

-a significant and sustained reduction in the suicide of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people towards zero.

Targets definition

Targets reflect social justice by aiming on health outcomes, educational attainment, employment and housing; reducing incarceration, out-of-home care, violence and suicide; and promote legal rights relating to land and water and the number of ATSI languages spoken
