Elevator Pitch Bullet Points:
Greenly, Salve, Finance, Tennis + Yoga
Summer
Innovate → Exposure to business + marketing
Barista → Communication + fast pace work environment
ITHF → worked directly with customers
All experiences were different but taught me adaptability and communication
I learned that I liked a challenge and seeing how the different parts of a business work
Attracted to the FLDP because I can develop my skills in Finance while being exposed to the different parts
ELEVATOR PITCH
My name is Greenly and I am a junior at Salve studying finance with a minor in marketing. Over the summer I had the opportunity to intern at Innovate Newport marketing for their Blue Tech Talks, giving me exposure to the business and marketing side of an organization. I also work as a Barista strengthung my communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment. And I worked at the ITHF in the pro shop where I booked courts, handled transactions and worked directly with customers.
All these experiences were very different but were able to teach me adaptability, working in a fast pace environment and communication. I’ve relized that I enjoy being challenged and learning how diffrent parts of an organization work.
One of the things that attracted me to the FLDP was the ability to develop my knowledge in finance and while also getting exposure to different areas of finance. I think with my flexibility and experience with working with different teams would allow me to contribute while also gaining a lot from this program.
Why Siemens?
Siemens has so much to offer in the finance field, especially since it’s a global company.
Siemens also uses technology to help improve people’s lives (transport, health equipment, even home appliances) which is very inspiring as that is something that is important to me, to help people.
Siemens also works to be more eco-friendly
Why the FLDP
The FLDP gives a great opportunity to explore different careers in finance. I came to Salve as an undecided major, and was very grateful I got the experience to explore different majors. So being able to explore different areas of finance will definitely be very helpful for me
Also give the opportunity to live somewhere I wouldn’t normally, super exciting
Why Finance?
I wanted a challenge
I found myself gravitating more towards data+ finance courses (data side of marketing)
I liked using numbers to figure out how to help a business and better understand a business
