Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)
Can be called Nerves that are connected to the brain are referred to as cranial nerves and those attached to the spinal cord are called spinal nerves.

Central nervous system (CNS)
is responsible for integrating, processing and coordinating sensory data and motor demands

Periosteal layer
of the dura mater that lies against the inner surface of the skull and provides a protective layer.

Meningeal layer
of the dura mater that lies against the brain and forms the protective covering of the central nervous system.

cerebrospinal fluid
a clear fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, providing cushioning.
Telencephalon
Functions: memory storage and processing skeletal muscle contractions

frontal lobe function
Primary motor cortex (precentral gynus) somatic motor
Parietal Lobe
Pirmary Sensory cortex (postcentral gyrus)

Temproal Lobe
Audiotory assocation area , cortex and offactory cortex

Occipital Lobe
visual cortex: recives segment and intergates visual information

What are commissural fibers
connect corresponding regions of the left and right
What are association fibers
connect brain regions within the same hemisphere
Projection Fibers
connect the cerebral cortex to the diencephlon brianstem
