Applicants for MN driver and vehicle services are required to provide their social security number on the application form

You must have a 20/40 and 105 for peripheral vision

Vanessa's Law

An unlicensed teen driver with a crash-related moving violation, or an alcohol/controlled substance-related violation, of one or more statutes, including a dwi, implied consent, open bottle or underage drinking and driving/ not a drop law cannot be given a license, instruction permit or provisional license until age 18.

Speed limit

10 mph in alleys, 30mph on urban and town roads, 55 in other locations not specified in this list.

Signaling

100ft before you make the turn, continue signaling until you've turned/lane changed

Blind spots

Blind spots are areas around your vehicle where your view is obstructed.

Turns

Left turns ''after checking traffic behind you, and signaling your intent, move into the lane closest to the center.

Right turns '' After checking traffic behind you and signaling your intent, move close to the right curb.

Left turns

If the car ahead of you is signaling for a left turn, slow down and prepare to stop 🛑.

Right turns

When no turn on red is posted at an intersection, you must wait until the light is green 🥝

Roundabouts

Slow down, for multi lane ones, get into the appropriate lane as you approach it. 2nd yield to 🚲🚲🦯🏃🏽‍♀️🚶 and watch for signs and pavement marking that prohibit certain movements. Drive counter clockwise⏰ until you reach your destination

Where is Parking not allowed?

Within intersections, on cross walk or sidewalk, within 20ft of crosswalk at intersection. Within 30ft of 🚥🛑🔆 control signal. And within 50ft 🚂🚂 crossing within 10ft of 🔥 hydrant. In front of mailboxes.

Highway parking

Vehicles left on state highways/ freeways 🛣 for any reason must be moved away from the main traveled portion of the road.

Seat belt

Use lap and shoulder belt/ it should be fitted snugly across the chest and middle shoulder.

Infant and child safety seat law

The back seat is the safest place in most vehicles 🚗 for children under 13.

Infants

0-1yr must ride in a rear-facing child safety restraint system, and weigh at least 20lbs

Under 8yr/ 4ft 9in

Who have out grown a forward facing harnessed seat 💺 must use a seat belt straps positioned at shoulder length. A child may not use a seat belt alone until he/she is age 8 or 4ft and 9in tall

Steering weal

Keep hands at 8 and 4 ⏰ and 9 and 3 clock 🕰. Avoid 10 and 2 ⏰
