Pass the required knowledge and practical tests
Requirements to remain current as a PAR?
Within proceeding 24 months/2 years pilot must accomplish flight review in aircraft that the pilot is rated and receive logbook endorsement by authorize instructor
Three takeoffs and three landings within 90 days to carry passengers
If made these landings in a tail, will, it will also count for a tricycle your aircraft, but not vice versa
Three takeoff and three landings if operations began one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise within 90 days

Are you required to log all of your flights?
No, only required to document used to meet requirements for a certification rating or flight review. But best practice to log everything. make sure you remain current.
What to do to regain currency if their flight review is past 24 months?
Must complete a new flight review
Minimum one hour ground one hour flight training.
Instructor will assess pilots knowledge
What other activities can a pilot accomplish that can substitute for a flight review?
Earn a new certificate or rating
Participate in FAA wings program (this involves completing specific knowledge and activities tailored to enhance safety)
Difference between being current and being proficient?
Current: Means pilot has accomplished the minimum FAA requirements within specific time and can exercise privileges of their Certificate. They are legal, but does not necessarily mean that they are competent to fly
Proficient: Pilot can conduct a flight with high degree of competence that requires the pilot to have wide range of knowledge and skills.
How does making personal minimum checklist reduce pilot risk?
Pre-established numbers can make it a lot easier to come to a smart diversity go/no go decision. Having that written set of personal minimum, makes it easier to explain, tough cancellations or diversion decision decisions to passengers
What to do if you are flying a new plane with avionics that you are not familiar with?
This has high risk potential. I Would not take that flight since I am unfamiliar with the equipment my workload is increased, and it decreases my situational awareness
How long to notify FAA airman certification branch of new address to continue to exercise privileges of a pilot cert?
30 days after the Date of move
What flight time can SIC log?
Only in a plane that requires more than one pilot by the aircraft type certificate Must hold the appropriate category class and instrument rating if required
How to use PAVE to minimize risk?
PAVE is an effective tool for mitigating risk and enhancing flight safety
P: Assess physical, mental, emotional readiness ex: Fatigue, illness, stress, and medication example may set personal minimum of eight hours of sleep before deciding to fly
A: Aircraft is the aircraft suitable improperly, equipped ex: Personal minimum one hour of fuel reserve
V: Weather to rain, external conditions. Personal minimum could be ceiling visibility crosswind components.
E: External pressure: Time constraints, passenger demands, personal commitments
What privileges and limitations ?
No, PIC of plane carrying passengers or property for compensation or higher
May not pay less than the prorate share of operating expenses with passengers
May Act as PIC of a charitable nonprofit community event
May be reimbursed for aircraft operating expenses, directly related to searching location operations
May demonstrate aircraft and flight to a buyer if pilot is an aircraft sales person and has 200 hours
May act as PIC of aircraft towing a glider or unpowered ultralight vehicle if met require requirements
May act as PIC to conduct a production flight test in light sport aircraft intended for certification in the light sport category if requirements are met
What must pilot have in their physical possession or readily accessible in the aircraft?
Pilot certification
Photo identification
Medical certification
What is the definition of high-performance airplane and what must you do to act as PIC?
High-performance Has an engine of more than 200 hp
Received and logged ground in flight training in high-performance airplane or in flight simulator representative of a high-performance claim and have been found proficient by instructor
Received and logged one time endorsement and logbook from instructor who certifies you are proficient to operate high-performance plane
If you have some of the ratings to fly a certain plane, but your friend has all of the ratings you can log PIC time, but you cannot act as PIC
What is a complex plane and what must you do to act as PIC?
Play that has retractable, landing gear, flaps, and controllable pitch propeller
Received logged ground and flight training in complex, airplane or flight simulator and have been found proficient by instructor
Received one time endorsement in logbook for a complex plane
The same rules apply for a tail wheel aircraft
What requirements to be PIC of an aircraft towing a glider?
Hold at least private pilot certification
Minimum 100 hours of PIC time in aircraft category class and type
Receive ground and flight training in glider, towing operations from instructor
Obtain a logbook endorsement
Perform three actual or simulated glider toes in 12 months with a qualified pilot
Send a private pilot who does not have current medical or basic Med continue to fly?
Yes, under sports pilot certification since private pilot level certification is higher
Only need US drivers license and aircraft that meets sport pilot aircraft criteria
But if pilot was denied suspended or revoked medical certification, you cannot use drivers license. If medical was expired, you can still act as sports pilot
What kind of aircraft can sport Pilots fly
Weight shift controlled, powered parachute, gyroplane, single engine, land, and sea aircraft
Can NOT Fly plane that has VS1 speed more than 59 kts Seats must be limited to four. But only Fly with one passengerEven though plane has more seats
No weight limitations
Can sports pilot fly at night
Only if they met the training & endorsement requirements
Required to have current FAA medical or basic med
Can sports pilot fly retractable gear plane, manual controllable pitch propeller
If met training requirements received and logged flight training and received endorsement
What medical certificate required for Private pilot?
Hold Minimum third class medical
Under 40 good for 60 CM
Over 40 good for 24 CM
What can you do if Develop condition preventing medical certification?
Statement of demonstrated ability – soda to a person who condition is non-progressive and has been found capable of performing pilot duties without endangering public safety. Does not expire if condition has not adversely changed.
How long to wait if you take medicine that is on the do not fly list
Five dosage intervals after the last dose before flying
Ex: Take meds every eight hours 8×5= 40 Hours wait
Where find list of medical conditions that may disqualify you from getting a medical?
