Periodic Function
A function that repeats its values in regular intervals or periods.
Period
The horizontal distance required for a periodic function to complete one full cycle.
Cosine
The measure of the horizontal displacement of a point from the y-axis.
Sine
The measure of the vertical displacement of a point from the x-axis
Tangent
The ratio of the vertical displacement to the horizontal displacement.
Sinusoidal Functions
Functions written in the form f(x) = a * sin(bx - c) + d or f(x) = a * cos(bx - c) + d, where a, b, c, and d are constants.
Amplitude
The vertical distance from the midline to the maximum or minimum value of the function.
Midline
A horizontal line that passes through the middle of the graph, halfway between the maximum and minimum values.
Vertical Asymptotes
Lines on the graph x = a where f(x) approaches infinity or negative infinity.
Inverse Sine Function
The angle whose sine is a given number.
Inverse Cosine Function
The angle whose cosine is a given number.
Inverse Tangent Function
The angle whose tangent is a given number.
