What is Diamond properties, hardness and electric conductivity

  • Hardness- It has a network of carbons atoms that each form four covalent bonds in a tetrahedral structural arrangement. It has strong covalent bods that hold the atoms in place in a very rigid lattice structure

  • Electric conductivity- It doesn’t conduct electricity because it has no free electrons or irons

What is Graphite’s physical properties, Hardness and electric conductivity

Hardness- It is soft because each carbon atoms only forms three covalent bonds which creates hexagonal layers of carbon atoms that can slide over each other and are held together by weak intermolecular forces

Electric conductivity- Three out of each carbon four outer electrons are used in bonds so the have a free electrons that can move so it conducts electricity

What is Fullerene’s physical properties, hardness and electric conductivity

Electric conductivity- It has a free electron but is its poor conductor of electricity
Hardness- it is soft because it has weak intermolecular forces between the bonds and the layers of molecules can slide over each other
