Primary Stroke Center (7)

Capable of treating an ischemic stroke with medication (clots in the brain). 

Tx adult pts w/ 0-3 LAMS score.

Comprehensive Stroke Center 

Capable of treating ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke (brain bleed). Neurosurgery team available 24/7.

Tx adult (18+) pt suspected of experiencing a hemorrhagic stroke, w/ + Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Scale or Posterior Cerebellar Assessment is positive AND LAMS 4 < (greater than 4 indicating large vessel occlusion).

Has dedicated trauma facilities, but not all staff is dedicated to the trauma unit. Some surgical specialties might NOT be available in-hospital 24/7. Require immediate notification when bringing in a trauma pt.

Adult Burn Center

A hospital specializing in the treatment of burns. Often part of a larger trauma center, but not every trauma center has a burn unit.
