Vocabulary flashcards detailing the six reporting categories and scoring criteria requirements for the AP Computer Science Principles Create Task rubric.
Row 1: Program Purpose and Function
The reporting category assessing whether the video demonstrates user input, program functionality, and output, and whether written response 3a describes the overall purpose, demonstrated functionality, and input/output.
Video Requirements (Row 1)
The components demonstrated in the submitted video: User Input, Program Functionality, and Output.
Written Response 3a
A response that: i. describes the overall purpose of the program, ii. describes what functionality of the program is demonstrated in the video, and iii. describes the input and output demonstrated in the video.
Row 2: Data Abstraction
The reporting category requiring written response 3b to paste code showing list assignment of values, paste code showing how that list is used to fulfill its purpose, identify the list name, and describe what the data in the list represents.
Row 3: Managing Complexity
The reporting category evaluated in written response 3b (part v), requiring an explanation of how the list manages complexity by explaining how the program could not be written, or would need to be written very differently, without using code for the list.
Written Response 3b
The written prompt addressing Data Abstraction and Managing Complexity, including pasted code for list assignment and usage, identification of list name, description of list data, and complexity explanation.
Row 4: Procedural Abstraction
The reporting category requiring written response 3c to include pasted code of a function using one or more parameters with sequencing, selection, and iteration, code showing where it is called, and a description of what it does and how it contributes to overall program functionality.
Row 5: Algorithm Implementation
The reporting category in written response 3c (part iv) requiring a detailed, step-by-step explanation of how the code is implemented and accomplishes a task, detailed enough that someone else could recreate it.
Written Response 3c
The written prompt addressing Procedural Abstraction and Algorithm Implementation, requiring procedure code (with sequencing, selection, and iteration), call location, functional contribution description, and step-by-step implementation details.
Row 6: Testing
The reporting category evaluated in written response 3d requiring descriptions of two separate calls/arguments run through the procedure from 3c, the conditions being met by each call, and the results of each call.
Written Response 3d
The written prompt for testing that separately describes two calls (arguments) to the procedure from 3c, describes what condition is being met by each call, and describes the result of each call.
