Multiple

Equation

Expression
Mathematical phrase without an equal sign. ex. 20 + 5 - (7 + 2)
Estimate
finding a rounded value that is close to the exact. ex. 189 —> 200
Underestimate
the result of using lesser numbers to estimate a sum or product. 225 + 348 —> 200 + 300 = 500
Overestimate
the result of using greater numbers to estimate a sum or product. 225 + 348 —> 230 + 350 = 580
Partial Products
products that are found by breaking one of the factors by value and then multiplying each of the values by the other factor.

Variable
a letter that represents a number ex. X + 7 = 10 —> x = 3
