Example of sin, suffer, sorry, saved:
When Moses is on Mt. Sinai, people grow impatient and build Golden Calf to worship then later refuse to enter Promised Land and wish to return to Egypt
God delivers consequences—plague strikes camp, and he sentences the Hebrews to wander the wilderness for 40 years until they pass away
When wandering in the wilderness, they confess their wrongdoings to Moses and plead for deliverance

Main message of all prophets:
Turn from sin and idolatry
When you don’t, and you won’t, you will be destroyed
A “remnant” will be saved
From this “remnant” will come a person to save the righteous
This person will come from the family tree of David

• apostolic origin (had to have apostle’s name attached to it)
content of the book had to contain proto-othrodox doctrine (Othrodox christianity beliefs)
