Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) ROLES

Provides clinical services including:

screening

evaluation

consultation

diagnosis

treatment

counseling

collaboration

documentation and referral.

SLPA Scope of Practices

• Conduct speech and language screenings(without interpretation) using screening protocols developed by the SLP.

• Provide direct treatment assistance under the supervision of SLP

• Follow and implement documented treatment plans developed by SLP

• Assist with SLP research projects, in-service training and family/community education

• Document client progress towards established objectives and report informed to supervising SLP

• Assist SLP during assessments

• Act as an interpreter when appropriate

• Scheduling activities and preparing data and charts

• Perform checks and maintenance of equipment
