System
A group of related parts that work together to achieve a common goal, taking inputs, processing them, and producing outputs.
Systems Analysis and Design (SAD)
A structured process of studying a problem, defining requirements, and creating a solution system, usually for software or information system.
Feedback
Information used to improve the system.
Systems Design
The phase where solutions are crafted to fulfill the requirements identified during systems analysis, creating specifications, interfaces, and architectures.
System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
A structured process that outlines the phases involved in developing a system, including planning, creating, testing, and deploying.
Transaction Processing System (TPS)
Used to record day-to-day business transactions of the organization, often answering routine questions.
Management Information System (MIS)
A system used to provide reports and information necessary for decision-making within an organization, compiling data from various sources.
Decision Support System (DSS)
Used by senior management to make non-routine decisions by analyzing inputs from internal and external systems.
Executive Support System (ESS)
Systems designed for executives to access crucial information necessary for strategic decision-making.
Office Automation System (OAS)
A computer-based system used to create, store, process, and communicate office information electronically.
Open Source Software
Programs whose source code is publicly available for anyone to view, modify, and share, fostering a community-driven approach to software development.
Integration of Technologies
Combining various hardware and software systems to create a seamless operational environment to improve functionality and reduce redundancy.
